The Healing Power of Music with Nora York
When I got this assignment, I did not think that I would learn something about myself. Nora’s Ted Talk, “What I Want,” reached inside me and pulled out the pain and anguish that life brings us all. But in my case, it made me feel that I was damaged by life and that is okay.
The lesson and what I liked best is that you can accept the situation even if you feel like you do not fit or out of place in your world, you can adapt and move on. You cannot always get what you want. But you can move on and find something that you can get and sometimes it is better than what you wanted in the first place.
Nora York is an activist, artist, and performer who shines the light inside the box, providing that glimmer of hope that you will be okay. She is a woman with many hats. She has twenty-five years of engaging diverse, inventive, and engaging music. Touching on topics that most wish they were strong enough to throw out there.
