The Tetris Effect on a Gamer’s Journey

EA's Tetris games are vanishing from mobiles | Eurogamer.net

What game did you play?

I played Tetris. I downloaded the free app on my phone—a micro-transaction game the was required for an assignment in my module for  #CIS103SCC @scottsdaleCC.

What game genre does your game fall into?

Strategy,sub-genre, Puzzle owed by EA Games.

Research this game online and describe its community of players. Who plays this type of game?

According to Market Drive Tetris appeals to everyone. It is for the old and the young and helps with hand-eye coordination.

Where did you play the game (mobile or computer or game platform)?

On my phone, I saw that it was available on PC; however, that comes at a premium cost for Tetris® Effect: Connected is 39.99. It is too expensive for something I would never play after this assignment is complete.

How many times did you play?

For 3 days, 3 hours a day. I was annoyed.

Describe what you did/did not like about the game.

I like that it reminded me of my youth, and once you play the game, you will never forget it. What I did not like about the game is that even though they call it Tetris, you see definite changes to the nostalgic game, such as new colors, modes, and levels. In some cases, the music is even different. I was eager to relive my past and found that Tetris had moved into the 21st century instead of staying in the 20th century.

Are you a regular player?

I am not a regular player;  I have not played the original Tetris game since I was a child. I am not a gamer. It is not my interest, unlike my bestie, who can marathon a game and still want to play more.

Will you play again?

I may play again. I am not a regular gamer, but it is a neat way to pass the time when waiting in a doctor’s office or at the DMV.

What social media aspects are woven into the game you played? Provide at least one (1) specific.

I was quite shocked to learn that Tetris has its own Facebook, X, and Instagram, to name a few.
